Allcargo’s Avvashya CCI Logistics to expand overseas

By, ccilogistics Uncategorised Comments: no comments

Avvashya CCI Logistics Pvt Ltd (ACCI), a unit of Mumbai-listed Allcargo Logistics Ltd, is venturing into the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Kenya as part of a larger plan to expand overseas, a top company official has said.

The company has drawn up a strategic roadmap to expand its operational footprint by establishing a market presence in Kenya and Jebel Ali Free Zone, UAE.

It will be leveraging its market capabilities to provide technically advanced warehousing services to global automotive majors who are on the verge of setting up vehicle assembly lines in Kenya. This move is significant as the Kenyan government plans to develop the country as a regional auto-manufacturing hub as it is the largest economy in East Africa and is one of the largest automobile markets in the African continent.

ACCI is also expanding operations into the economically vibrant Gulf region by operating out of the bustling Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai, which has emerged as a leading logistics and distribution hub for the automotive industry in the region. It aims to provide warehousing services to automotive majors in the Zone, thus tapping into a major part of the Zone’s customer base.

ACCI is also in discussions with the Government of Ras Al Khaimah for setting up a warehousing facility in the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone.

The global expansion initiatives of ACCI will be led by Anoop Chauhan, who has recently joined the company as the Chief Operating Officer, ACCI Supply Chain.

Allcargo holds 62 per cent stake in ACCI.

“We foresee an uptick in demand for specialised warehousing and logistics solutions for the auto sector as auto makers plan to set-up vehicle assembly lines in automotive hubs around the world. This is the right time to scale up our operational capacities on a global level and expand our footprint in emerging overseas automotive hubs,” said Adarsh Hegde, Joint MD, Allcargo Logistics.
